South West
Crestmont
Snuggled into the west foothills of Calgary, Crestmont provides a private, picturesque mountain backdrop along with ideal access to the TransCanada Highway. Enjoy the many activities and nearby shopping amenities of downtown Calgary or whisk away to the mountains in just minutes.

Evergreen
West of Macleod Trail are the neighborhoods of Evergreen, Evergreen Estates, Evercreek Bluffs, Shawnessy, and Shawnee Slopes. Known largely as young-family oriented communities, these neighborhoods are relatively new themselves - construction first began in the 80s. The region currently has public elementary school services.
Evergreen homes range in price from around $350,000 to $1.5-million, while Evergreen condos start in the mid-$200,000 range. Townhouses in Evergreen are priced from the mid-$300,000.
Somerset
Somerset is located south of Fish Creek Provincial Park, and southwest of the old Shawnessy community. It is nestled between 6 Street and 14th Street SW, and between 162nd Avenue to the north and Marquis of Lorne Trail to the south. This community is adjacent to the Somerset station at the south terminus of the LRT transit system. A six-acre public square at one of the two entrances into Somerset is designed like an English country garden with extensive landscaping. There is also a wetland maintained by Ducks Unlimited on the northwest corner of 14th Street and Highway 22x, complete with viewing stations.
Somerset has about 600 lots, and is now a mature neighbourhood, with only resale homes available. The community is mostly single family homes, with some semi-detached, and some multi-unit townhouses as well.
Bridlewood
A favourite of new homebuyers, Bridlewood is a peaceful community surrounded by the beauty of the country and the elegance of Spruce Meadows. A country approach to architectural standards is echoed throughout in the details of the exteriors of every home.
This community is north of the Spruce Meadows Trail and south of the community of Evergreen. To the east it borders the Bridlewood Creek wetland and the Spruce Meadows equestrian facility is located immediately south.
Located in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Bridlewood boasts a myriad of shops, movie theatres, restaurants, golf course, city run recreation facilities and Fish Creek park just minutes away. Within the community, there are numerous parks with play equipment, ball diamonds, pathways and a soccer field.
Silverado
Influenced by the area's rich ranching history and sweeping mountain views, Silverado is a relatively new community of south west Calgary that started construction in 2006. It is located at the southern edge of the city, south of the Spruce Meadows Trail and east of Spruce Meadows. Its eastern boundary is Macleod Trail while 194 Avenue S.W. will form the community's southern boundary.
Silverado offers its residents a tremendous amount of protected green space and the Radio Tower Creek wetlands, which are the heart of a new 60 acre park. With house prices starting at $350,000, Silverado offers show homes, spec homes and lots available from a number of builders, including Baywest Homes, Excel Homes, Homes by Avi, Landmark Homes, Lifestyle Homes, Morrison Homes, Shane Homes, Sterling Homes, and Trico Homes.
Millrise
This community lies south of Fish Creek Park, and on the west side of Macleod Trail. Having started construction in the 1980’s, Millrise is a high density community with mostly single family homes. The community is rapidly becoming a shopper's paradise with many big box stores attracted to the 50,000 area residents in the "young family" demographic.
Millrise has a range of single family, semi-detached and condominium homes, ranging from small to mid-sized.
Shawnessy
This is a suburban residential neighbourhood in the south-west quadrant of Calgary. It is bounded by Shawnessy Boulevard to the south, MacLeod Trail to the east, 162 Avenue S to the south and 14 Street W. to the west. Established in 1981, Shawnessy’s major recreation facilities are the South Fish Creek Recreation Centre with its ice arena, and the YMCA, with two wave pools, the Southland Leisure Centre to the north, and the Family Leisure Centre to the east. Shawnee Slopes golf course is in the middle of the community. The area is served by the Shawnessy station of the C-Train LRT system.
Cedarbrae Established in 1973, Cedarbrae is a residential neighbourhood in the south-west quadrant of Calgary. It is bounded by Southland Drive to the north, 24 Street W to the east, Anderson Road to the south and the Tsuu T'ina first nation reserve to the west.
Braeside
This south western neighbourhood of Calgary is located north of Anderson Drive, south of Southland Drive, west of 14th Street SW and east of 24th Street SW. It is an affordable neighbourhood with a mix of single-family homes, townhouses, and condos, with a mix of owned and rented dwellings. Commuters in this area get funnelled down a very busy 14th Street on their way to downtown Calgary.
Woodbine
This residential neighbourhood is located at the western edge of the city, and it borders the Tsuu T'ina first nation reserve to the west and the Fish Creek Provincial Park to the south. To the north it is bounded by Anderson Road and to the east by 24th Street West.
Established in 1980, Woodbine primarily has single family residential dwellings in a variety of styles, built on quiet curvy streets.
Woodlands
This south western community borders the Fish Creek Provincial Park to the south, and is lined on the east side by the Canyon Meadows Golf course.
Most of the development in this neighbourhood started during the 1980’s boom years. Homes in this community are primarily single family residential dwellings, built on quiet curvy streets. There are some multi-unit condominiums along 17th Street SW and along Elbow Drive south of Canyon Meadows as well. Woodlands accesses recreation facilities around the Fish Creek Park, with its meandering pathways that link to the Bow River pathway system to the east.
